The Temptations' Hit 'Power' Gets Remixed In Blackberry Playbook Commercial
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Universal Music Enterprises) Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is pleased to announce that they will be releasing the remix of The Temptations hit song "Power" on September 13th. The remix was produced by Soundtree, an award-winning London-based music production company and was used in a Blackberry commercial. Oli Julian, Luis Almau and Peter Raeburn (Soundtree co-founder) serve as producers. The remix will include an unreleased spoken word segment from Temptation Melvin Franklin, as well as an unreleased final verse from Temptation Dennis Edwards. "Power," originally produced by Berry Gordy (with Angelo Bond) is noted for marking The Temptations' return to Motown after being on hiatus from the label and became a Top 50 single, rising to #11 on the R&B/Soul charts.

The "Power" remix coincides with Motown/Universal Music Enterprises (UMe)'s announcement that in honor of the 50th anniversary of The Temptations, it will mark the historic Detroit label's musical achievements with a series of key CD and DVD releases this fall in both physical and digital formats that will incorporate rare tracks and long-awaited previously unreleased footage.

Peter Raeburn, founder/Creative Director of Soundtree, composer and music producer, famous for his work on the films SEXY BEAST and the Sundance favorite, THE LIE, was commissioned to find the soundtrack for the recent Blackberry PlayBook commercial for ad agency AMV BBDO London. After much research, he rediscovered the gem of a track "Power" by The Temptations. It had all the elements: moving vocals, lush strings, fantastic groove -- but it just needed re-imagining and that extra kick. Taking the elements loved by so many and then some, Raeburn, Almau and Julian created a massive, inventive floor-filling modern dance remix classic. After the commercial aired Motown commissioned a full length remix after intense online interest was expressed to make the track heard in the Blackberry commercial available for sale. The "Power (Soundtree remix)" will be available digitally and is included in the DIGITAL version of the 9/13 release of "The Temptations / 50th Anniversary: The Complete Singles 1961-1971."

Set for release September 13 digitally and October 25 (CD):
The Temptations / 50th Anniversary: The Complete Singles 1961-1971, a 3-disc tribute to the original classic Temptations lineup, featuring every A- and B- side from their beginning, through their respective triumphs, including "My Girl," "I Can't Get Next To You" and "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," closing with the departures of original members Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams. The "Power (Soundtree remix)" will be included on the digital version only.

Set for release September 13:
The Best of The Temptations On The Ed Sullivan Show (1 DVD)
This DVD is packed with classic Temptations performances culled from the groundbreaking Ed Sullivan Show, taped live between 1964 and 1971, and all footage has been fully restored with the addition of never before released footage. Included here is the group's very first appearance in May 1967, in which they performed a medley of hits including "My Girl" and "(I Know) I'm Losing You." Other songs featured are the group's No. 1 hit "I Can't Get Next to You," a playful version of "You've Made Me So Very Happy," the Top Ten hit "Psychedelic Shack," and the 1969 hit single "Runaway Child, Running Wild" with Dennis Edwards replacing David Ruffin.
