The TiPS Share 'Wasting Time' Music Video - From New Album 'Twists'N'Turns'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) THE TiPS have shared the second single, 'Wasting Time', from their upcoming new album, 'TWISTS'N'TURNS'. The new record will be released through Long Beach Records Europe on the 19th February 2016.

"I'm super excited about releasing the new video for 'Wasting Time'" says Janosch Holland, drummer of THE TiPS. "The track visits the old sound from our first record, 'High Sobriety', but with a host of new flavors to bring the sound to a new level. This Song is a musical journey which introduces elements of cozy reggae, along with a smooth soul injection."

'Wasting Time' was shot in bassist Faf's flat, together with a bunch of friends in just one take.
The song refers to the creative process of redefining and reinventing one's own character within society. The one shot technique in this video represents the slowing down of the pace of society, then steadily becoming faster and faster.
You can see a young man in the midst of different stories and individuals living their lives. He only takes part passively, if he even takes part at all - it's not really clear if he realizes what happens around him and/or if he's simply in his own apathetic world.

Reggae music from Dusseldorf, Germany? Not the sound that most people would associate with that city.... People familiar with today's youth culture might default to images of Germany's underground punk movement. THE TiPS, however, began their musical journey within that scene and immediately introduced elements of cozy reggae along with smooth soul into their hard driving punk songs - A process which created their unique sound and style. Punks of all sub genres, however, continue to follow their fellow travelers even whilst the band's style has been quickly attracting a larger and more diverse fan base. THE TiPS latest album, to be released on Long Beach Records Europe on February 19, 2016, stays true to their musical vision while taking a step further. 'TWISTS'N'TURNS' honors THE TiPS reputation as Germany's seminal punk/reggae/rock band all-the-while branching out for the first time to international markets.

THE TiPS are deeply rooted in the local skateboard scene. Faf and Jay continue to push their own abilities while also helping to organize local contests. Recently they were honored to have Helge Tscharn, a legendary skateboard photographer, long time member of the Monster Skateboard Magazine editorial board, who currently resides in Brazil, shoot their promo photos and contribute to their press pack. Stefan A Beham who has worked with such artists as Zebrahead, Lagwagon, Authority Zero and Wilhelm Scream designed the release's artwork, as well as a signature THE TiPS skateboard. The deck is sponsored by Pavel Skates and Reell Jeans and will be available in skate-shops along with a download hangtag of the album. THE TiPS are honored to be supported by Concrete Wave Cologne as well.

Singer/guitarist, Aljoscha 'Ali' Thaleikis spent some of his formative years in the United States where he was introduced to styles of music that he was previously unfamiliar with. It was during this time that he began to blend his local German punk roots with other styles of protest music including soul, ska, reggae and dub. Ali, however, moved back to Germany and by 2009 had formed THE TiPS. 2011 saw the release of their debut album HIGH SOBRIETY on Rotlicht Records. Their sophomore album TRIPPIN' was released two years later.

THE TiPS have played over 130 shows in the last two years. Headlining their own tours whilst also supporting acts such as The Mad Caddies, Die Rakede, Ruts D.C., The Toasters and Jaya the Cat. They have also been included on festivals including Bochum Total, Mighty Sounds, Free & Easy, Jera on Air and Open Flair. Yet during that busy period of time the band has been able to write and record their new album. 'TWISTS'N'TURNS' features 12 original tracks produced by Alexander Beitzke (Jamiroquai, Ed, Sheeran, Florence And The Machine) at the Maarweg Studios in Cologne, and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Linkin Park, Lana Del Ray Nine Inch Nails). 'TWISTS'N'TURNS' adds new elements of soul and rock to their already unique sound while continuing to stay true to their reggae and punk roots.

THE TIPS have already booked a tour to support 'TWIST'N'TURNS' including dates in Germany, France and the Netherlands. Further tour dates and countries are in the works and locations and dates will be updated shortly.

'TWIST'N'TURNS' is available on 180g Bloodred Vinyl LP, 8 page Digipak CD and Digital Download from the 19th February 2016 through Long Beach Records Europe.
