LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Polly Mackey Official Website) - The Liverpool & North Wales based band is making their second appearance at SXSW after a blistering 9-performance debut at last year's festival which earned them rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. Already booked in for seven performances this year - four of which are official SXSW showcases - the band are being touted as one of 2010's major breakthrough acts.

Leading UK media group HMV certainly seem to think so. They recently selected the band as the only unsigned act to be invited to appear at their inaugural Next Big Thing Festival in London in February where they rubbed shoulders with the likes of The Plasticines, Paloma Faith, Miike Snow, Daisy Dares You and the Mystery Jets.

Despite her tender age, Polly is no stranger to big stages having appeared at last summer's FIB Heineken Benicassim Festival in Spain alongside Oasis, Kings of Leon and The Killers.

Does the prospect of appearing in front of more than two hundred music industry executives from around the world faze her? Polly answers:

'If I'm honest, I would have to say that I'd feel more comfortable if it was a full band performance rather than a stripped down acoustic one because you're obviously a bit more exposed. But you couldn't ask for a better shop window to display your goods which are the bare songs. Hopefully, these will shine through and we can do enough to convince the suits to come along later on the same night to our official showcase at The Alehouse where they can discover what we are really all about'.

Fans, media and industry wanting to discover what all the fuss is about can see Polly Mackey & The Pleasure Principle at The Alehouse on 6th Street where they have the coveted 1:00AM slot on Wednesday night/Thursday morning (17th/18th) or at the Welsh Party for The British Music Embassy at Latitude 30 on Thursday afternoon at 2:00PM.
