New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Vamps, who are involved in the race to have this week's UK Number One album, have signed a global deal with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group. The band has generated more than two billion streams of their songs to date.

The Vamps say: "We've always written songs for our albums and we also love collaborating with other songwriters. Whenever we have down time on the road, we start writing. It's amazing to work with Mike Smith again and we can't wait to team up with songwriters and artists working in every type of genre from hip-hop to Nashville. It's an exciting new chapter for the band."

Mike Smith, Managing Director, Warner/Chappell Music UK., says: "I first met The Vamps when I signed them on the label side more than five years ago. What marked them out from the start was that they were amazing songwriters as well as performers. I can't wait to get them working with the best songwriters in the world. They've got a truly global perspective and it's going to be an exciting ride."

The Vamps are a four-piece band consisting of Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals). They formed in 2012 and initially came to the attention of the music business by uploading cover songs to their YouTube channel.

A record deal with Mercury Records followed and the band's debut single 'Can We Dance' shot to Number Two in the UK charts in October 2013. Their debut album, Meet The Vamps, was released in April 2014 and went to Number Two in the UK and Ireland, and Number Three in Australia. In addition to 'Can We Dance', the album contained the Top Five hits 'Wild Heart', 'Last Night' and 'Somebody to You'.

The band set up their own record label, Steady Records, in partnership with Universal Music and EMI Records, in 2015 ahead of the release of their second album Wake Up, which was a Top 10 success in the UK. Singles from the album included 'Wake Up' and 'I Found A Girl'.

In 2017, the band enjoyed their first UK Number One album with the release of the Night Edition of their concept album Night & Day. The album included collaborations with Joe Don Rooney, Martin Jensen, Matoma and Sabrina Carpenter. Several special editions, named after each member of the band, contained extras including pictures, videos and bonus tracks. Hit singles included 'All Night' and 'Middle Of The Night'.

The Day Edition followed in July 2018 - and is currently ahead in the race to be the UK Number One album according to figures from the Official Charts Company. The album contains collaborations with the likes of Danny Avila and Maggie Lindemann.

The Vamps are set to undertake a coast-coast promotional tour of the US in the coming weeks and have just announced a Four Corners UK & Ireland tour, which is taking place next May.
