MONTREAL, Canada (Top40 Charts/ Gillett Entertainment Group) - Gillett Entertainment Group, in collaboration with Greenland, MEG and Higher Ground is thrilled to present the second edition of the OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival (pronounced O-SHE-A-GA). Over 65 artists will share 5 stages for two days of festivities and over 20 hours of music!

Alt-rock legends Smashing Pumpkins, make their much anticipated return after a 7 year hiatus, celebrating Zeitgeist, their hot new release. New York City's indie pacesetter Interpol joins the OSHEAGA line-up. Their new album Our Love to Admire wowed both critics and fans alike. Hot off her showstopping performance at Live Earth - Rio, the colourful Macy Gray sets her inimitable vibe with her new millennium R&B soul.

Charismatic local singer-songwriter Patrick Watson returns from a year of extensive touring with a suitcase full of international praise. Since debuting on the OSHEAGA stage last year, his concerts have consistently sold out. Also from the pulsating Montreal music scene - headliners Dumas, Pascale Picard and Xavier Cafeine and newcomers Miracle Fortress and Elsiane.

Once again the best of alternative rock is poised to perform. This year's program includes sets from twelve artists, who all played to sold-out houses the last time their tour buses rolled into town, namely Feist, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Damien Rice, and Martha Wainwright. The MEG Stage (Montreal Eclectic Groove) features the rising stars of the new music scene. Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the return of M.I.A. and Peter, Bjorn and John.

Patrick Watson, The Besnard Lakes, Feist and Miracle Fortess are all nominated for the Polaris prize. The award goes to the best Canadian album of the year and there are only 10 nominees per year! Across the pond in the UK, Jamie T and Arctic Monkeys are nominated for the prestigious Mercury prize.

In 1967, Montreal invited the entire globe to Man and his World. The Universal Exposition truly was a passport to the world and allowed us to discover the limitless beauty of Sainte-Helene's Island and its outstanding open-air art gallery featuring sculptures from world renowned artists. Now called Parc Jean-Drapeau, this bucolic urban oasis cradled by currents carries on the Osheaga mission. Inspired by the site's natural beauty, the Salon des Arts unites artists from many disciplines under the theme of: Human Nature, A balance of humanity in the Natural Environment. The Salon Des Arts features sound, lights, stage and video screens as well as exhibition spaces for various artworks. The Art Tent presents a program for art enthusiasts that will feature a wide range of international and local artists including The Zoolab, a labyrinth that will amaze art-lovers with over 20 paintings, sculptures, and illustrations of Montreal. The Zen Garden and the Sculpture Garden provide festival-goers with spaces for discovery and relaxation. Also on the Salon des arts program, the screening of the film "Electroma" produced by Daft Punk, the famous electronic music duo.

Doing its part to create as little waste as possible, Osheaga will partner once again with the Consortium Eco-Logic to ensure that anything that can be recycled will be recycled from the Osheaga site. The official beer and major event partner, Molson Dry is going green for the Osheaga Festival. All beer sold onsite will be served in fully compostable glasses made from corn. "Molson Dry is proud to contribute to the festive energy of Osheaga and to honour the organizers' philosophy of minimizing as much as possible the environmental footprint of the event," explained Sylvain Gagnon, Manager, Events and Sponsorships with Molson. And this year, the Festival will also collaborate with the David Suzuki Foundation.

Festivals-goers will be able to enjoy free internet access at the Dumoulin Internet Cafe. And we are also pleased to announce that Children under 10 will be admitted for free to Osheaga with proof of age and in the company of an adult.

In order to further enhance your weekend of music and art discoveries, over twenty exotic food and craft kiosks will be on site to satisfy your hunger as well as your curiosity.

True to Montreal's passion of integrating art in all its forms, Osheaga aims to satisfy all of your senses. Be sure that your summer '07 goes out with a bang; be part of Canada's premier music and arts festival, Osheaga!
