New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Washington Square, the alternative leaning imprint of Razor & Tie, has partnered with Billboard to premiere new songs from recent signings Austin Plaine and Soren Bryce- Read More and Hear Music Here (https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6649111/soren-bryce-austin-plaine-washington-square-premiere).
About Soren Bryce
Singer songwriter Soren Bryce releases her third song, "Newport," from her forthcoming self-titled debut EP set for release on August 28th. Soren's music has already had a rapturous reception with NPR All Songs Considered featuring the song "Sirens" and raving "her prodigious ease with instruments isn't the only hint at a remarkably productive mind. "Sirens" showcases Bryce's complex, abstract and borderline stream-of-conscience lyrical style, and an ear for idiosyncratic cadence. Listen to the way she tucks the world "pull" in between beats in the middle of every chorus. It's disarming without being disorienting, unexpected without being startling. "Sirens" is full of many things: experimental folk-pop sounds, strange and poetic lyrics and a young, assured vocal. But more than anything, it's full of good ideas. If her music continues to be this invention-rich, this new EP could be the harbinger of extraordinary creativity to come."
Her first song "Chariot" was released with Kick Kick Snare. All three songs will be available tomorrow as instant grat tracks at iTunes here: https://geni.us/sorenbryce.
The Soren Bryce EP was produced by hit maker David Kahne (Lana Del Rey, Ingrid Michaelson). The 18 year old native Texan, who grew up listening to her dad's classic-rock collection, is a classically trained violinist as well as a self-taught guitar player (along with other instruments including piano, banjo and ukulele). At a young age Soren discovered what she refers to as "pissed-off folk," such as Ani DiFranco and Ben Howard. Her uncommon maturity is evident as she writes visceral, emotionally intricate songs with beautifully crafted pop melodies. She wrote her first song on the piano at the age of 7 and at the age of 16, she relocated to Los Angeles to focus her energies on writing songs and earning a reputation in the music scene and has since blossomed into a compelling performer. Today, Bryce estimates she has written between 100 and 150 songs, covering a range of emotions. Soren presents her piano and guitar fueled songwriting in a soulful tone with slight vocal vibrato, an idiosyncratic style that reveals both strength and fragility. https://www.sorenbryce.com/

About Austin Plaine
Singer songwriter Austin Plaine releases his official single, "Never Come Back Again," from his forthcoming debut self-titled album set for release on September 11th. The song impacts Triple A and Americana radio on August 24th. Plaine previously released the song "Houston" via Relix. Wild Honey Pie recently said of Austin's songs that, "the lyrics ... echo daydreams - dreams of disconnecting from attachments and voiding ourselves of responsibilities... his music is relatable, sweet, catchy and easy." Austin Plaine can be pre-ordered with the first two instant grat tracks at iTunes here: https://geni.us/austinplaine
Born in Fargo, ND and raised in Minnesota, Austin Plaine's music is seeded in storytelling. One can assume that with less to do than metropolitan city life, Austin was intrigued to find a guitar that belonged to his grandfather in a family closet. At aged 13, with the help of his cousin, Austin learned his first chords and dove straight into songwriting. Taking inspiration from artists like Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, and Ryan Adams, Austin tells emotional, inspirational and personal stories about love, exploring the world and living life to the fullest. His raw, concise lyrics and beautiful melodies have proven to be a soundtrack to TV shows and commercials. Mastercard licensed his song "Beautiful" for a heartfelt ad at the end of 2014. The song was also featured in a key, uplifting moment in and episode of The Biggest Loser. Songs "Hard Days" and "Houston" made an appearance in the CWs Hart of Dixie.
On his debut album, you can hear why 23 year old Plaine's plaintive lyrics and calming rasp have earned early praise. His folksy music, at times both unsettling and a comfort, has been hailed as "the soundtrack for nostalgia-drunk road trips." And his voice: "Like worn flannel and faded jeans." Lyrically, Plaine teeters on the autobiographical, with the singer's personal life mixing seamlessly with his knack for colorful storytelling. Plaine's journey from unknown to rising talent started innocuously. "Being a musician full-time was the last thing I thought I would do," Plaine remembers. "I mean, at one point, I was studying for my LSATs to be a lawyer. But as I was writing more songs, I realized I could see myself doing this." He was invited down to Nashville to record a few tunes. No pressure, no expectations. Just him and producer Jordan Schmidt (Quietdrive, Motion City Soundtrack), out to try a few songs. Remembers Plaine: "It's about that time I was like, hey, maybe this is something I should pursue." https://austinplainemusic.com/
Austin Plaine and Soren Bryce will both announce touring plans soon.
