New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) Montreal-based indie rocker
Danielle Duval has just released a new music video for "Ambulance", one of the highlights on her debut, Of the Valley. The 911 emergency call that is heartbreak is at the center of the video. As
Danielle serenades the patient, some questions come to mind. Do you need a xylophone to perform a heart transplant? What happens when a speeding ambulance gets a flat tire with the patient in the back? Find out by watching the video here!
Danielle says, "Ambulance is the song that started it all. The catalyst to the opening "Of The Valley" floodgates. It's about emergencies of the mind rather than of the physical. It states the purpose for which I write songs. To go from the dark towards the light. To make our "freshman" video with uber talented and innovative friends sealed the love." Of the Valleywas released last fall. It was produced by Carlin Nicholson and Mike O' Brien of Zeus (Arts & Crafts). The album moves from harmony-driven pop to the explosive female-fronted rock that took the world by storm in the 70s and 80s. Duval completed a national tour of Canada in October supporting fellow native, Canadian singer-songwriter, Royal Wood.
Danielle Duval's debut EP, L'etranger, included a heart wrenching, slow burn blues transformation of the bubble-gum pop tune, "You're The One That I Want," from the GreaseSoundtrack. The singers' cover aired on
David Duchovny's cult TV series, Californication, ultimately landing a spot on the show's official soundtrack.
After an epic road trip through the Mojave Dessert and a brief sojourn in Joshua Tree, California, Duval began recording her debut album with Carlin Nicholson and Mike O'Brien at the production helm. The recording resulted in exciting musical contributions from The Golden Dogs, Bahamas, and a duet with Broken Social Scene's Jason Collett.
Duval's undeniable talent has also been recognized and utilized by several Canadian heavyweight Champs. She recently lent her pipes to an Emm Gryner production, sang on "Bootleg Saint" and " The Resistance" off Sam Roberts' Chemical City, and Jason Collett's "Bitch City", and worked on previous recordings with Canadian Pride, Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo) and Jim Creeggan (Barenaked Ladies).
