"You Know The Night," Performed By Jackson Browne With Rob Wasserman, Goes To Radio On August 22nd
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / 429 Records) "You Know the Night," performed by Jackson Browne with Rob Wasserman, will go for adds at Triple A Commercial, Non-Comm and Americana radio on August 22nd. The song is the lead single from Note of Hope, a celebration of Woody Guthrie, based on primarily unpublished writings that the great American Master penned between 1942 and 1954 while living in New York City and Brooklyn. Working from a 30-page notebook entry of Guthrie's, Browne and Wasserman wrote the music for "You Know the Night." The album version of the epic love song - which describes the evening Woody first met the woman destined to become his second wife, Marjorie Mazia - is nearly 15 minutes long while the radio edit is four minutes. You can check it out at: https://www.429records.com/sites/429records/pressclips/newreleases/jacksonbrowne/

Other artists on the CD include: Ani DiFranco, Kurt Elling, Michael Franti, Nellie McKay, Tom Morello, Van Dyke Parks, Madeleine Peyroux, Lou Reed, Pete Seeger, Studs Terkel, Tony Trischka, andChris Whitley. A pre-order for Note of Hope is underway at:

Due out September 27th on 429 Records, the release is the first of a multitude of events leading up to the 2012 centennial celebration of Guthrie's birth. The GRAMMY Museum and Woody Guthrie Publications will produce "This Land Is Your Land," a series of four Woody Guthrie tribute concerts. The first will take place on March 10, 2012 at the Brady Theater in Tulsa, OK, and the second is slated for April 14, 2012 at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Nora Guthrie and The Woody Guthrie Archives in conjunction with Bob Santelli and The GRAMMY Museum will curate the traveling exhibit "This Land Is Your Land," which will stop at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa (Feb.-Mar. 2012), the University of Southern California (April-May 2012) and Bethel Woods Museum in Bethel, NY (June-Aug. 2012). Numerous other events are planned worldwide. They will be tracked on a special anniversary website, www.woody100.com, where fans can also submit listings of events that they have planned.

Born on July 14th, 1912 in Okemah, Oklahoma, Woody Guthrie is widely regarded as America's greatest folksinger. He wrote over 3,000 songs in his lifetime, including "This Land Is Your Land," which became America's unofficial national anthem.
