New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Growing up under the same roof The Bridges, the sibling band from Oxford, AL were turned on to music of past decades by their parents. Sort of. The kids would buy classic albums for their parents for Mother's Day or Father's Day and end up keeping the records for themselves. The indelible songs and shimmering, sunny harmonies on The Bridges debut album 'Limits Of The Sky' (June 10, Verve Forecast) are heavily influenced by the music of the 60's and 70's. Here are some of the artists who inspired them:

Crosby, Stills and Nash -"The first album we heard from Crosby, Stills and Nash was Deja Vu" says band member Natalie Byrd. "Our mother played 'Teach Your Children Well' and 'Our House' for us and we went out and bought the record. We wore it out and learned that harmony didn't always have to be pretty; it could rock as well. They had a great way of balancing that."

Fleetwood Mac- "The first songs we heard from them were 'The Chain,' 'Landslide' and 'Silver Springs.' Our parents showed us a Fleetwood Mac concert that aired on PBS in 1997 and at first we didn't get it. We watched the whole thing not knowing how much of an influence they would be to our band 10 years later. When we were told we sounded like them, we revisited the music and sure enough fell in love with it. 'Silver Springs' and 'Landslide' were our musical milestones for a while. They really set a standard of song-writing to us."

America -"They are the best cheesy harmony band from the 70's to us. In a good way though. Sometimes you need a little cheese and they do it and do it well. When we first heard 'Ventura Highway' we hadn't really 'gone electric' yet and we took a liking to their acoustic harmony sound. 'Ventura Highway' is the jam - the production on that song is incredible - while 'I Need You' is butter."

Tom Petty - "Every musician in Tom's band is amazing and yet you never hear them stepping on each others toes. I don't think there is a song of Tom Petty we've heard that we don't like. They just have undeniably fun catchy tunes yet they are rock and roll."
