50 Cent will not only be on television, on the Internet, and at a pair of retail stores promoting his new Before I Self Destruct album and film but he'll also be playing
Santa this holiday season. Amidst tough economic times,
50 Cent is implementing his own stimulus package, specifically to help single mothers.
For "50's Money For Moms" contest in conjunction with BET, entrants must explain in 200 words or less why she - or a single mother the writer knows - deserves to win one of three grand prizes of $10,000 each from 50 Cent. Details and entries are available at www.bet.com/Site/contests_50cent.
Before I Self Destruct (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) was released digitally on November 9th and debuted No 1 on iTunes. The album will be available in stores today, November 16th.
Television Appearances:
This week 50 Cent's television takeover includes appearances on Tonight Show With Conan Obrien (11/17), Jimmy Kimmel Live (11/18), Chelsea Lately (11/19), BET 106 & Park (11/19), Tavis Smiley (11/20), and the American Music Awards (11/22). He will make additional appearances on BET 106 & Park on 11/23 and 11/24.
Online Film Screening:
50 Cent and XXL Magazine partner up with uStream and will give fans a chance to screen online Before I Self Destruct, his directorial debut, with 50 himself. The film on DVD is included with the album package and recently was screened in 10 cities across the country. This exclusive one-time only live Webcast will take place on Thursday, November 19th, at 9 p.m. EST via uStream.com/50cent. 50 Cent will be watching the film at the same time and will take questions from viewers after the screening. 50 Cent graces the cover of XXL's December/January issue.
Photos With 50:
On Friday, November 20th, 50 will be at two Best Buy locations where lucky fans will be able to take a photo with him. Beginning November 15th, a limited number of purchasers of Before I Self Destruct at the Jersey City (125 18th St.) and Union Square stores (52 E. 14th St.) will receive a pass for the photo opportunity. 50 will be at the New Jersey store at 6 p.m. and the New York City store at 9 p.m.
