Beale Street Tavern - Austin, TX - Tuesday, August 21st FREE All Ages
The Salvage Yard - Joplin, MO - Saturday, August 25th FREE All Ages

The band who is known for their unique live shows, where no two shows are ever the same, can be counted on to offer an exciting and entertaining performance. The group will also be featured on the upcoming Compilation, "Indie Anthems", with their track "Tempers". The compilation, which is produced by WiFiPR Group will showcase new artists they have recently signed to their client roster. The Compilation will come out as digital release and be distributed for free at upcoming music festivals and industry events including Lallapalooza, Indie Entertainment Summit and CMJ.

Get Along includes members, Cara Summer on lead vocals, guitar, synth and percussion and Nicholas James on Percussion, Synth and back up Vocals. They have established themselves as a dynamic live act who delivers a unique performance with each show as no two performances are ever the same. "We change our sets, arrangements, and performances constantly as well as add small dramatic changes elements to each performance," commented James.

Their self-released EP, "We Lit These Torches To See In The Dark," was recorded in the duo's home studio and was co-produced by James himself. They consider it to be one of their greatest musical accomplishments. James stated, "A couple of months back we decided to go all out. We decided to try to make our own destiny. We self recorded and helped produce our debut EP. Recording at home gave us freedom to record when we wanted, and how we wanted, but presented several challenges to maintain a professional sounding record. Our self booked tour was a great success, gaining several fans and friends from across the country. We gave some of our best performances on the road. In the whole process we've become true "DIY" artists. Though we wouldn't mind help from a label or booking agency, our biggest accomplishment is learning how to do it ourselves. We needed to know we had it in us."And yet the rock duo plans to continue searching themselves musically for goals to accomplish and stages to conquer. In addition to the August tour they have planned and their current EP, James stated that "over the next 6 months, we hope to record a single and B-side. We plan to tour in November, hitting new locations and repeating others. We also hope to submit to and book a performance at the 2013 SXSW music festival."

Get Along has also shared the stage with several national headliners including, Civil Twilight, Churchill, Company of Thieves, The Features, The Seedy Seeds. When the group was asked what inspires their song writing they responded, "Our songs are all based off of past, current, or what we feel will be future events. every song is personal. Much of our music is faith-based; how we should seek God in such an industry, and how to do so without getting a cheap play, or being ignored by those who disagree with us. We are young and confused, yet we think we know what we want. It's hard to realize that most of the time; our music is mostly about the discovery of ourselves."

The Who, Bright Eyes, The Beatles, Queen, Regina Spektor and The Killers are mentioned when they identify who their musical influences were, and they are compared to having the similar soulful vocals of Florence and the Machine and the rock sensibilities of The Pretenders in terms of musical style, tone and feel.
