Dirt Pop Trio Critics Release Debut Single 'All I Wanna Know'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) London based Dirt-Pop three-piece CRITICS recently released their debut single 'All I Wanna Know', through their own record label.
Taken from their EP 'Spilt Milk', the track is a combination of smashing drums, pulsing guitars, dark synths and enigmatic vocals - blending the attitude of American Alt-Rock-Poppers Twenty One Pilots with the iconoclastic frankness of British shapeshifters The 1975.

Singer Lynn Paighton's raw and confessional lyrics explore the aftermath of an unhealthy relationship breakdown, which disturbing and magnificent odyssey is perfectly depicted in the compelling visuals directed by Matthew Daley, who has previously directed Rocksound-approved Diamond Days' 'The Death of Us', among others successful music videos.

"It deals with letting go of people who choose to leave our lives, it challenges those who doubted you face on by detailing the want for revenge in the best way - success," explains Lynn Paighton. The singer does not shy away from discussing issues that so many of us face through life; "focusing on the character's mind, the video makes use of vivid graphics to show his mind-set, while his powerful and controlled front provides a paradoxical take on how the mind can go from on an extent to another,"

This relentless lyrical content is punctuated by Jack Lawson's throbbing rhythm guitar and Jamie Lowes futuristic synths, which drive the intense hook to an explosive chorus. Showing a strength that is rarely seen in new bands, the trio spent last year closed in their recording studio shaping the sound they were craving to achieve. Fresh from signing to In De Goot management, the band found themselves working with the team responsible for Biffy Clyro's success in the US, which helped them with gaining the momentum they were searching for.

Having already supported the likes of The Virginmarys, Drowners and Say We Can Fly, the band is now ready to play The Social in London for the BMI showcase on 7th February, before embarking on a short UK tour in March supporting Scottish muscular punk-rockers Vukovi - kicking off at Glasgow's King Tuts, hitting London's Boston Music Rooms and ending at Nottingham's Rock City Basement.

Taking the ferocious attitude and lyrical honesty of indie-rock music and combining it with pop hooks and futuristic production, 'All I Wanna Know' looks to firmly catapult the band into the mainstream.

TOUR DATES SUPPORTING VUKOVI
Thurs 16th LONDON - Boston Music Rooms
Sat 18th NOTTINGHAM - Rock City Basement
