New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Backed by her full band, Shemekia Copeland will bring her "supercharged voice" (Chicago Sun-Times) to NYC for a show at The Highline Ballroom celebrating the release of her new album, and Telarc debut, 'Never Going Back.'
The daughter of blues legend Johnny Clyde Copeland, Shemekia is "a singer with fervor and funk, grit and grace, sass and sizzle" (USA Today). With the help of producer Oliver Wood and guest appearances by Chris Wood, John Medeski and noted guitarist Marc Ribot, 'Never Going Back' shows Shemekia projecting a distinctly modern vision of blues music that is informed by the genre's history, but not limited by it.
