New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This new collaboration is a fresh sound that aims to bridge the gap between generations. Houston found a perfect partner to help her in JANITOR, a 28-year-old LA-based producer, tightly-knit in the local indie rock scene who has also traveled the world contributing his talents on bass and cello playing a wide range of genres from jazz to electronic to hip-hop.
Combining styles both classic and contemporary, the EP name fortytwo comes from the age difference between the two artists. With vastly different backgrounds, it was music and their personal stories that has brought them together. The first taste of their collaborative EP is with single " Enemy", a personal tune that was the first song the two wrote together. After Houston read the first lines, JANITOR instantly began to work, completing a dramatic lead-off to their journey that is fortytwo. " Enemy", a dark and ominous song is minimal yet compelling with Houston's commanding vocals being the driving force behind the meaningful lyrics.
The fortytwo EP is out now.
