Yolanda Adams To Appear At CBCF Annual Prayer Breakfast

WASHINGTON, DC (Top40 Charts/ Congressional Black Caucus Foundation) - The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) announced today that Grammy Award winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams and The Pine Forge Academy Choir of Pine Forge, Pennsylvania will perform at the 39th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) during the Prayer Breakfast. The ALC Prayer Breakfast is scheduled from 7-10 a.m., on Saturday, September 26th on the final day of the ALC. Previous artists featured at the ALC Prayer breakfast include award winning gospel singers Maurette Brown Clark, Byron Cage, and Tramaine Hawkins.

U.S. Reps. Chaka Fattah of Pennsylvania and Yvette D. Clarke of New York will serve as honorary co-chairs of the 39th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), from September 23-26 at the Walter E.
Washington Convention Center in the nation's capital. This year's conference theme is "Reinvest...Rebuild...Renew." More information on ALC is available at www.cbcfinc.org

Ms. Adams was the recipient of a Grammy Award in 2000 for her platinum album Mountain High...Valley Low. Since experiencing tremendous success with this album, Ms. Adams went on to further produce inspiring gospel music that has continued to reach the top of the U.S. music charts. Most recently she has started her own radio show, Yolanda Adams In The Morning, which airs on urban gospel stations around the country.

The Pine Forge Academy Choir consists of dedicated young men and women from ages 13 through 18. The Choir is noted for its full, rich and harmonious quality, proclaim God's goodness through spirituals, anthems, gospel, and classical. The choir is touring the United States under the direction of Neil Thomas, musical director.

Headlining ALC will once again be the 42 members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) who will lead forums on education, health care, the environment, economic development, criminal justice, housing, transportation and international affairs. ALC is expected to draw nearly 18,000 officials, business and industry leaders, celebrities, media, emerging leaders and everyday Americans. The conference includes an awards dinner, exhibits showcase, book signings and networking opportunities.

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc., was established in 1976 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit, public policy, research and education institute to help improve the socio-economic circumstances of African Americans and other underserved communities.
