fun. Is No 1! "We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)" Rockets To The Top Of Billboard's "Hot 100": "Some Nights" Makes Top 3 Debut On Billboard 200, As Critical Acclaim Continues From All Corners
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) fun. has ascended to the #1 spot on Billboard's "Hot 100" with their breakthrough hit single, "We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe)." The track is one of the many highlights found on the band's newly released Fueled By Ramen debut album, "SOME NIGHTS," which has entered Billboard's "Top Current Albums" chart at #2 while also making a top 3 entry onto the Billboard 200.

With total downloads now approaching 1.5 million, "We Are Young" is also standing tall in its second consecutive week at #1 on the "Top Digital Songs" chart. The single is further proving a multi-format radio sensation, scoring #2 airplay at Alternative outlets nationwide. What's more, "We Are Young" has exploded onto the CHR/Top 40 ranking at #24 -- the highest ever debut on the chart from a new artist, according to Mediabase.

Additionally, the "We Are Young" companion video is earning extensive play across the MTV network. Recently named as MTV's "PUSH Artist of the Week," fun. is currently among the artists nominated for the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards' "Breaking Woodie," which honors today's favorite emerging artists. Fans are invited to vote for fun. at www.mtv.com/ontv/woodieawards/2012/breaking-woodie/.

Currently starring on the cover of the latest issue of Billboard, fun. will celebrate the blockbuster success of "We Are Young" with an eagerly awaited performance on CBS' Late Show with David Letterman, slated for April 23rd (check local listings). The appearance follows recent visits to TBS' Conan and VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

fun. recently embarked on a hugely anticipated North American headline tour, with most dates already long sold out. The trek will culminate with a pair of instant hometown sell-outs at New York City's Terminal 5 on June 16th and 17th. For full details and ticket availability, please see https://ournameisfun.com/tour.

The NYC-based band has also scheduled a series of showcases and party appearances at next week's South by Southwest® Music & Media Conference (SXSW®) in Austin, Texas. Highlights include performances at Nikon Inc. and Warner Music Group's "The Warner Sound Captured by Nikon" residency on Wednesday, March 14th at 2:50 pm, followed shortly thereafter with an in-store appearance at Waterloo Records at 5:00 pm. Thursday, March 15th will see fun. performing at the inaugural mtvU Woodies Awards Festival, streaming live on Woodies.mtvU.com with a set time slated for 6:15 pm. The band will wrap its busy SXSW with a Friday, March 16th set at the annual Paradigm showcase at the world famous Stubb's BBQ.

Revel & Riot, an organization that promotes LGBT rights, awareness and equality through art, design and education resources, will serve as fun.'s official charity partner throughout the spring tour. A specially designed shirt reading "It's all fun. and gay 'til someone loses their rights" is on sale now at all tour dates as well as via the band's official webstore, located at https://store.ournameisfun.com. All proceeds from sales of the shirt will benefit Revel & Riot. An outspoken advocate for equal rights and marriage equality, fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff recently published the first in a series of blog posts for The Huffington Post's "Gay Voices," entitled "Straight Allies: The Importance and the Realities."

Having earned widespread acclaim with their 2009 debut album, "AIM AND IGNITE," fun. decided to raise the stakes with "SOME NIGHTS" by teaming with noted producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Drake). The band and Bhasker have worked to evolve the idiosyncratic fun. sound by marrying their robust melodies with elements of hip-hop.

In addition to its spectacular popular success, "SOME NIGHTS" has also earned ecstatic critical praise, with Rolling Stone applauding its blend of "classic bubble-pop tunefulness with rococo rock & roll" as well as singer Nate Ruess' "huge voice, all snarl and Broadway panache." SPIN hailed the album's "combination of record-collector bravado and lyrical vulnerability," singling out "the towering, thrilling 'One Foot'" and "the do-the-robot opening-to-the-car-with-the-windows-down anthem 'It Gets Better.'" Perhaps AbsolutePunk.net summed it up best in its 9.5-out-of-10 rave: "SOME NIGHTS" is "the bold, adventurous and grandiose album that the Top 40 charts needs right now."
