LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Ray Phillips Website) - Musician Ray Phillips, probably best known for his role as founding member of Welsh heavy rockers BUDGIE, has completed his very first & long awaited solo album, due for release July 2009. The album is currently being mixed.

Although Ray Phillips, now a multi-talented veteran to the music scene, is no doubt one of rocks best kept secrets, that didn't stop him playing a part in the influence of a young ALEX VAN HALEN. Budgie impressed upon the lives of other rock greats, both in the U.K and U.S.A, with METALLICA covering 'Crash Course in Brain Surgery' and 'Breadfan', while IRON MAIDEN covered 'I can't see My Feelings'. As Seattle witnessed the birth of the grunge scene, we then saw SOUNDGARDEN cover 'Homicidal Suicidal'. All songs with the exception of 'I Can't See My Feelings', were taken from the first three BUDGIE albums, which would all showcase Ray Phillips on drums.

The Ray Phillips solo album - a concept album entitled 'Revelations', maintains a vintage '70's rock feel, Tony Bourge inspired guitar tones but is also varied in that it contains lots of Pink Floyd styled overtones.

Ray has already completed a string of interviews and appeared in numerous publications, reaching out as far as Australia, USA, Canada and Scandanavia, in order to support the upcoming release worldwide. He will also be looking to do some festival appearances next year as well as some radio interviews/acoustic sessions.

There is also a planned release of live TREDEGAR footage (the '80's metal band formed by Ray and also featuring Budgie's Tony Bourge). The DVD will feature a live concert, four national TV interviews, a rare promo video for the single Duma and a 2009 interview/documentary programme.

Finally, aside all the current musical action, Ray is also putting pen to paper to produce his first book which will cover his many rock 'n' roll years as well tales of life on the road with BUDGIE. Music journalist Jus Forrest will assist Ray putting together his Biography.
