- Five For Fighting's John Ondrasik To Perform At 2011 Food For Thought
NEW YORK (AP) - Five For Fighting performed at Sports Illustrated's Night Of Champions earlier this month, which was pre-taped for a television special that airs Saturday night (December 15) on NBC. The band, led by singer/songwriter John Ondrasik, performed "Superman (It's Not Easy)," from its album America Town.

Ondrasik told that the event was one of the highlights of the year for him. "We just did the Sports Illustrated awards, and after we played 'Superman' I look out and there's Magic Johnson crying. You know, we rubbed elbows with Ali."

Five For Fighting has a sports connection--its name comes from hockey terminology. Five minutes for fighting is the penalty a player gets for throwing punches.

The band is currently on a radio festival tour.
