LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Virgin Records/ Corinne Bailey Rae Official Website) - Good Groove / Virgin Records will now release Closer from Corinne Bailey Rae's hugely acclaimed new album The Sea, as a single on August 2nd.
With a specially shot video from LA featuring disco-balls, rollerskates and dancers specially choreographed by Frank Gatson renowned for his work with Beyonce, Closer is a slow-jam funk-soul piece of magic, with a nod to the R&B dancefloor, demonstrating yet another side to Corinne Bailey Rae - sultry, seductive and sensual.

Corinne has recently returned from Washington DC where she was specially invited by Sir Paul McCartney to perform at the White House as he received the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from President Obama.
She sang Blackbird with Herbie Hancock and Hey Jude alongside Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Jack White, Dave Grohl and Emmylou Harris. This follows on from her sold-out North American tour.

She also played at both Glastonbury Festival and Hard Rock Calling over the weekend with a string of UK and European dates lined up before heading to the Far East. Corinne then returns to the US for performances with the Lilith Fair touring bill and as the Very Special Guest on Norah Jones' tour.
