New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media) San Antonio's own, Girl In A Coma, will open for
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts next Thursday, July 14 at the 33rd annual Seaside Summer Concert Series kick-off concert. The show will be held at West 21st Street and Surf Avenue, next to the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones. Girl In A Coma's blend of fast paced rock, soulful lyrics and crooning vocals powerfully make for an irresistible live show. The band will be playing songs from their forthcoming album due out in the Fall along with some GIAC classics.
The band were signed by Joan Jett herself to her Blackheart Records label. They have toured with and been championed by many great artists including Sia, The Dresden Dolls, Pogues, Cyndi Lauper as well as Morrissey who penned the song that inspired their name.
