Iris Dement Embarks On Spring Tour Following Release Of Acclaimed Album "The Trackless Woods"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Iris Dement has confirmed an extensive spring tour following the 2015 release of 'The Trackless Woods,' a collection of songs set to the work of acclaimed 20th century poet Anna Akmatova, which earned wide acclaim, an interview on NPR's Fresh Air, and more. While most of the dates are headliners, DeMent will support John Prine for two special shows, April 8 at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre, and April 9 at Boston's Shubert Theatre.

'The Trackless Woods' is unlike any other release in Iris' illustrious career. She first came across the work of Akmatova in a book of Russian poetry given to her by a friend, and embarked on the project as a way to more deeply connect with the culture of her daughter, who DeMent and her husband adopted from Siberia in 2005.The result is a breathtaking pairing of piano and voice with timeless melodies that are deeply rooted in the American South.
