Sydney, AU (Universal Music Australia) - The undisputed King of Hip Hop, Shawn 'JAY-Z' Carter kicked off his Global Express World Tour this weekend headlining the inaugural Coca-Cola Live Festival in Krakow, Poland on Saturday September 9th.

The tour lasts over seven weeks and amongst other destinations visits UK, Holland, Turkey, Greece, several countries in west Africa, China, Thailand and culminates at the end of October with three shows in Australia. The Global Express Tour marks the first time a hip-hop artist has undertaken such a wide reaching international tour.

Following the show in Poland, JAY-Z moved onto Bratislava, Slovakia where a sold out house were treated to some of his standout cuts including '99 Problems', 'Hard Knock Life' and 'Encore'. JAY-Z is joined on stage for his performances by Roc-A-Fella's own Memphis Bleak, DJ Green Lantern and Lenny S.

JAY-Z has recently joined forces with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and MTV Networks to highlight the global water crisis and will film a special documentary 'The Diary of Jay-Z: Water for Life' during the tour to be broadcast around the world by MTV in November.
Special guests on various legs of the tour will include artists from Def Jam Records roster, of which Shawn 'JAY-Z' Carter is President and CEO, including Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Rick Ross.
