New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Growing up under the same roof Stalwart songwriter/producer Matthew Sweet has hand-picked sibling group The Bridges - young heirs to his power pop throne - to open his first national tour in four years this fall.
Sweet produced The Bridges' debut album 'Limits of the Sky' (Verve Forecast) which is lately showing signs of a breakout.
Bridges singer Brittany Painter is featured on the cover of the current issue of Paste Magazine which claims the group "construct some of the most addictive folk-pop revelry since
Joni Mitchell and Fleewood Mac." .
Likewise, mtvU saw fit to place The Bridges video for their first single "Pieces" in its highest rotation category. "Pieces" is currently featured on the mtvU.com home page as the sites's most viewed video.
This tour follows a smattering of Bridges headlining dates and a successful tour supporting fellow power poppers Rooney and Locksley earlier this summer. When that tour pulled through Tucson, The Arizona Daily Star observed that The Bridges "probably have the most crossover potential of all three acts."
