Carnegie, PA (Top40 Charts/ The Salvation Army) - Honor Society has quickly become one of the most talked about bands in the United States. Since the spring of 2009, Honor Society has been named a breakout band to watch by Rolling Stone and a Buzzworthy artist by MTV. This Saturday, the band is coming into the Pittsburgh area in a big way. Honor Society is kicking off its 9:00 p.m. Cheswick Chess-A-Rena concert with a gift to needy Allegheny county families.

On Saturday, April 17, from 11:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m., Honor Society band members will be at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Mall accepting canned goods for The Salvation Army. Donors will be asked to help to pack the food in boxes and load onto the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster vehicles. In recognition of Doing the Most Good for others, the individual bringing the most canned goods and their guest will receive 15 minutes of one-on-one time with a band member of their choice before the 9:00 p.m. Chess-A-Rena concert.

"The Salvation Army is delighted to be a part of this Honor Society event," said Major Sandra Jackson, The Salvation Army's Allegheny County Coordinator. "In 2009 in Allegheny County, we provided 80,000 more meals in than in 2008. This food drive is sorely needed and we are thrilled to get our area youth involved in such a worthy project."
