Tessanne Chin To Perform At 2014 St. Kitts Music Festival
Basseterre, St Kitts (Top40 Charts/ St. Kitts Tourism Authority) The St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the St. Kitts Music Festival committee today announce that Tessanne Chin, season 5 winner of NBC's hit TV show, The Voice, will perform at the 18th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival, taking place Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28, 2014.

"St. Kitts Musical Festival patrons first fell in love with Tessanne when she performed here early in her career in 2007, and we are even more pleased to welcome her back to St. Kitts this year following her recent career-changing The Voice victory," said Senator Ricky Skerritt, Minister of Tourism & International Transport.

A Jamaican reggae fusion artist, Tessanne Chin earned fame earlier this year by winning season 5 of NBC's The Voice. Born to musical parents and raised in Jamaica, Tessanne started performing at just six years old before moving to England at age 12. Upon returning to Jamaica, she joined the Jamaican Rock Band, "Mile High" and performed for crowds at local venues including Jazz fest, Rock fest, and RETV Unplugged. She then launched her solo career, and her debut single, "Hideaway," and its music video were very popular. After winning The Voice, Tessanne performed at the annual Rose Bowl Parade, Shaggy's benefit concert, "Shaggy and Friends," and headlined her first show in downtown Kingston with free admission. Tessanne's major label debut album is scheduled for release at the end of the year.

Now in its 18th year, the St. Kitts Music Festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso and Contemporary music. Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, Lionel Richie, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, Ne-Yo, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Shaggy, Toni Braxton, The Commodores, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Biggie Irie and Lord Nelson.
