The Legendary Barry Gibb To Premiere His 'Mythology' Tour In Australia With Three Exclusive Concerts
Melbourne, Australia (Top40 Charts / Live Nation) LIVE NATION is thrilled to announce the iconic Barry Gibb will return to Australian shores in February 2013 as he launches his MYTHOLOGY TOUR.

Touring in tribute to the unparalleled lifetimes in music created by Barry and his brothers, Maurice and Robin, this is sure to be a magical and emotional concert experience, drawing from every era of the timeless catalogue and huge international success achieved by Barry and his brothers.

With Australia being the initial port of call for the tour, the first concert has been confirmed for February 8 at Sydney Entertainment Centre, followed by Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on February 12 and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 16.

Tickets will go on sale 9am Friday, October 5. Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the exclusive pre-sale commencing midday Friday, September 28. Register at www.livenation.com.au

In February this year, Gibb gave the first hint of a potential concert tour, making his inaugural U.S. solo appearance on stage at the Hard Rock Live Arena in his hometown of Miami, Florida, and he recently made his debut on the stage of the famed Grand Ole Opry, performing alongside bluegrass king Ricky Skaggs. Currently the Bee Gees 2004 compilation album Number Ones is Number 5 on Billboard's album charts, marking a 45-year span of Top 10 albums for the trio.

The Australia tour will feature Barry Gibb with his incredible band that includes his son, guitarist/vocalist, Stephen, Maurice's daughter, Samantha, and Beth Cohen.

Commented Gibb, "As the place where we started so many years ago, we have always viewed Australia as our home so it is only fitting that we will be kicking off our Mythology tour there."

With a career that has spanned more than five decades, Barry Gibb stands as one of the most prolific singer/song-writer/producers of the modern era.

As the eldest brother and creative leader of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, along with his brothers Maurice and Robin, represent one of the most successful vocal groups in rock and roll history.

With their signature vocal style and blending of musical influences, the music of the Bee Gees has crossed all musical genres from Pop and R&B to Country and Rock-n-Roll.

As a songwriter, Barry Gibb is hailed with contemporaries such as Lennon and McCartney, enjoying the most consecutive Billboard Hot 100 Number Ones of any songwriter, with six; and he is the only songwriter to have written or co-written five songs that were simultaneously in the Top Ten. Throughout his illustrious career he has written, produced and performed with the best of the best, taking production credits on Barbra Streisand's two 'Guilty' albums, Dionne Warwick's 'Heartbreaker', Kenny Rogers' 1983 long player, 'Eyes That See In The Dark' and Diana Ross's 'Eaten Alive', as well as three number one hits for his younger brother Andy Gibb; and has had his songs recorded and/or performed by artists such as Roy Orbison, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Destiny's Child, Celine Dion, Michael Buble, the Gatlin Brothers, Al Green, Elton John, Tom Jones, Janis Joplin, Olivia Newton-John, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Conway Twitty, and Ricky Skaggs.

The Bee Gees music was born in Redcliffe, Queensland. The enduring legacy of the Gibb family and their special relationship with Australia, the nation that fostered their early development, exists to this day, the driving force behind the decision to launch the tour in Australia.

The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997, and have accumulated sixteen Grammy nominations, with nine wins.

To accompany the tour, Warner Music Australia will release the Mythology Box Set on October 5th.
