NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - In the' 90s, people were playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. In 2008, we could easily be playing Six Degrees of Jay Nash in the talented singer-songwriter pool.

His new album, 'The Things You Think You Need,' will be digitally released on May 20th. Its ten tracks, running the gamut from narratives to anthems, starts the game with appearances by Sara Bareilles and David Immergluck and Charlie Gillingham of Counting Crows.

As an artist who has lived in NYC, traveled through Europe, and now calls LA home, Jay has come across quite a list of musicians. And while Jay himself, who was first inspired by Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan, isn't one to name-drop, the list of artists he knows or has worked with while playing hundreds of shows a year at venues such as LA's legendary Hotel Cafe and Room 5 also includes popular and breakthrough artists such as Colbie Caillat, OneRepublic, Tyrone Wells, Gabriel Mann, William Fitzsimmons, Keaton Simons, The Weepies, Meiko, Brett Dennen and Rob Giles.

The reason for his popularity in music circles is really quite simple: he's a talented writer with a distinctively striking voice who's really good at what he does, and who tells a great story, in conversation or in song.

Catch Jay on tour throughout April/May and visit his MySpace page (www.myspace.com/jaynash) to hear 'Wayfarer' and 'Barcelona" (which features Sara Bareilles).

Then see how many degrees of Jay Nash you can connect.
