New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Zac Brown, a Georgia native and rising singer/songwriter/guitarist, will take his band on a national tour this spring and summer. Appealing to country, rock, reggae and bluegrass fans alike, the Zac Brown Band performs over 200 shows a year, including opening slots for The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, B.B. King and Etta James. This spring he continues on the road in support of ZZ Top, Sugarland and Travis Tritt. Fans are applauding Brown for his vivid storytelling, powerful voice and unique charisma.

Raised north of Atlanta in Dahlonega, Ga., Brown is the second-youngest of 12 children. He began playing guitar in his teens in bars outside Atlanta where he built up an arsenal of over 1000 cover songs. In his early days playing out, he would challenge his audience to stump him with a request for a song he did not know. It was during this time that Zac met Jimmy Demartini and John Hopkins - the fiddle player and bass player respectively - who would ultimately be the start of the Zac Brown Band, which Brown considers a second family. In the years to follow, the Zac Brown Band sold over 20,000 CDs and developed a fan base which landed them in the top ten unsigned artists in the southern rock and country charts on MySpace.

Brown attributes his success to his decision not to be easily categorized. "Music industry executives would ask me what genre my music was, and the fact that it didn't fit into any was always a big stumbling block for them. But I've held out, and realized that my music doesn't need a category. It comes from a real place, and that's what people identify with."
