Wayne's No 1 status was announced live to a national audience of more than 40 million Monday morning as he performed his single on the 43rd Annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.
"I was in Vegas this weekend for the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon when I got the news that my single had gone No 1," says Wayne . "What a great feeling- my first No 1 record! I have said it before, but it's worth repeating - not many people get their first shot at living their dream, but I have been given two chances now, and I can't thank country radio, country music fans and my record label enough for all of their support.
