Biography
Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (born 11 September 1991), commonly known by his stage name Kygo, is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter, record producer and musician. He garnered international attention with his remix of the track "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran, which has received over 33 million plays on SoundCloud and 50 million views on YouTube and his single "Firestone" which has over 215 million views on YouTube with an additional 350 million plays on the music streaming service Spotify, as of January 2016. Kygo has accumulated over 300 million views on his music on SoundCloud and YouTube.
After a breakthrough in 2014, he was asked by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin to create a remix for the song "Midnight". On 1 December 2014, he released his first single "Firestone", featuring vocals from Conrad (mononym for Conrad Sewell). In February, he released the official Ultra Music Festival theme song, "ID". On 15 March 2015, he released his second single, titled "Stole the Show", which as of 11 April 2015, it had already had 1.4 million online streams. On 31 July 2015, he released his third single, "Nothing Left", featuring vocals by Will Heard and this reached the top position on the Norwegian singles chart. On 4 September 2015, he released his fourth single, titled "Here for You" featuring vocals by Ella Henderson. Three months later his fifth single, "Stay", produced with fellow Norwegian producer William Larsen and featuring vocals by Maty Noyes, was released on 4 December 2015. On 18 March 2016, Kygo released his sixth single "Fragile", which features vocals from Labrinth. On 1 April 2016, Kygo released his seventh single "Raging", which features the Irish band Kodaline.
Timothy Lee McKenzie (born 4 January 1989), better known by his stage name Labrinth, is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Initially, he was tipped to work as a producer, but Simon Cowell signed him to his record label Syco Music as a solo act. In the process, Labrinth became Cowell's first non-talent show signing in six years.
Labrinth made his debut appearance on the UK Singles Chart in March 2010, when his collaboration with rapper Tinie Tempah, "Pass Out", reached number one. McKenzie has collaborated with Tinie Tempah on numerous occasions since. Labrinth's first solo single, "Let the Sun Shine" was released in September 2010, reaching number three in the same chart. His debut album Electronic Earth, was released on 31 March 2012, having been preceded by the singles "Earthquake" featuring Tinie Tempah and "Last Time", which peaked at number two and number four respectively. He achieved his first number-one single in November 2012 with "Beneath Your Beautiful", featuring Emeli Sandé.
