Biography

Eden's Rose is a Canadian singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer based in Victoria, BC. Since recently moving to the breath-taking scenic West Coast, the Toronto raised artist has had a jolt of inspiration that has birthed in 2013, full length piano instrumental album, In Search of Eden.

She has enjoyed radio play in Canada and the US with her first AC single, Marrow of My Heart (2005) and self-produced inspirational Christmas song, Till You Came for Me My King (2010). Both were recommended to Adult Contemporary radio playlists by US radio consulting publication, Eric Norberg's AC Music Research Letter (Portland, OR). Her most recent single, Rhythm of Your Dreams has also been recommended to AC playlists by Norberg's publication.

Her first album was released under her original name, Nelly Shin, and was produced by Brian Gagnon, who has toured in a musical group alongside Canadian rock band, Rush, and has recorded Shania Twain in her early career. She received airplay in about forty radio stations with her first album on Adult Contemporary formats on the airwaves as well as internationally on UK internet radio stations.

As a live performer, Eden's Rose has graced the stages of Toronto Centre for an Artsweek Festival headlined by Ashley MacIsaac. She has also perfored at Hard Rock Café (Toronto) and the Listening Room in Nashville, where she opened a round for hit songwriter, Gerald Smith (Lorrie Morgan, George Strait, George Jones). She has also appeared on Canadian television (CTV, Vision, Omni, TLN). In 2012, she performed an original song about the Town of Richmond Hill for the town's Mayor. Her music has also taken her to New England and Southern California.

A Bachelor of Music recipient from the University of Toronto, Eden's Rose is a seasoned artist with an extensive classical music background. Her music education began on the piano at age eight and by fifteen, she was composing, and penning her own songs. She won two First Awards for her original compositions at the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto during her teen years. Growing up, she was most influenced by the music of Beethoven, Chopin, David Foster, and Anne Murray.
Her introduction to the stage as a solo singer began at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music's University Chorus and later blossomed in 1996, as a Gospel singer when she became a vocal soloist at the televised Peoples Church in Toronto. In 1998, her original arrangement and performance of O Holy Night was filmed as a Christmas music video and received numerous repeat telecasts on CFMT (now OMNI) due to popular viewer requests.
A former high school teacher for the public school board in Toronto, Eden's Rose took a leap of faith after several years in the classroom to follow her artistic aspirations. She assumed her professional name in 2009 after an extensive roadtrip covering twelve states and five provinces in two months. Eden's Rose continues to hone her craft and pursue her path as an independent artist. Her other creative interests are writing and photography.
