Biography
There are three artists named Flume.

[1] Flume from Sydney, Australia. Harley Streten is a local Sydney beat maker who's only 20 years of age. Flume got his first taste for producing at age 13 from the most unlikely of places - a music production program he found in a cereal box. It began Flume's obsession with all things synthetic, and started his addiction for plug-ins, sample packs & vintage analogue hardware.

His first release was the Sleepless EP, back in 2011, which is full of enough lush pads, chopped and chipmunked vocals, saw synths and awesome percussion to impress any fan of Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus, Seekae or Space Dimension Controller..

[2] One is a Dutch is a pure and energetic Indie Pop/Rock-band from Enschede, the Netherlands. The band makes substantive, heartfelt and sunny pop songs, in which a driving rhythm section provides support for multi-layered guitar melodies and polyphonic vocals.

The moving, emotional and occasionally raw voice of guitarist and lead singer Dennis keeps
the songs together, and merges in natural harmony, or every now and then in dynamic
contrast, with the rich and soulful voice of Anna-Eva.

In their goal of creating beautiful, catchy, but also musically refreshing songs, Flume derives
her inspiration from a wide range of heroes like Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Justin Vernon
(Bon Iver), Chris Martin (Coldplay), and Erlend Öye (The Whitest Boy Alive), but also draws
upon historic legends like Jeff Buckley, John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix. These widespread
musical roots of Flume make the band sound simultaneously fresh and authentic.

The band was formed in 2008, but a large part of the songs was conceived when Dennis,
bass-player Mark and lead-guitarist Wilco started making and writing music together in
early 2007. With the addition of Anna-Eva and drummer Richard they started performing
as a full-fledged band under the name Eklektonaut in the summer of 2008. This name was
changed to Flume in early 2009 while the band was recording their first demo.

Some of the songs that were recorded were already being played live for over two years,
and can be heard on the band’s self-produced Wash Blood EP, which is available for free
download from http://www.flume.nl.

[3] The other one is a American band. From an idea that took form during Washington DC's blizzard of 1996, Flume has now captured their sound on their first full-length CD. "Note To Self" offers ten textured and subtle pop songs as an alternative to today's typically abrasive sounds.
David Nicholas (guitars) and Heather Nicholas (vocals) joined with Terry Burcham (drums) and Dave Meyer (bass) to form the current incarnation of the band. Flume produces a swirl of guitars and melodies that make an emotional connection which is fragile and powerful at the same time.

Live performances around the DC area have included Galaxy Hut, the Black Cat, and other local clubs with coverage by Washington's City Paper. After participating in an independent tribute CD for The Church and other recording ventures, "Note To Self" stands as the most complete statement by Flume to date.
