Biography
Gary Fomdeck is an alias of Dutch 3FM radio station's DJ Gerard Ekdom. Especially for Serious Request 2014, Ekdom made a single called "I'll be there this Christmas". According to him, the song is based on all great Christmas songs and therefore quite alike. The song was the number 1 requested during Serious Request and was the number 1 song on iTunes for almost one week.
Gary Fomdeck (1982) was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. From an early age it was clear he was a musician through and through. He learned to play the guitar, piano, bass and flute before the age of 18 and made his own records from then on. Later on he moved to New York City and worked many days and nights with greats like Ryan Tedder, Rihanna, Rick Rubin and many more. After a couple of years he needed a change from the lifestyle of the United States. So he moved to Amsterdam.
There was still one wish: make a full blown Christmas record. In 2014, Gary decided to do this himself and teamed up with a couple of Dutch musicians in a studio in the countryside to make ‘I’ll Be There This Christmas’!
