Biography

Born on 16th of January 1983, in the town of Kfar Saba in Israel, Giulia knew in a very early age that she had the passion to sing and to be a performer. At the age of six, Giulia and her family moved to Antwerp, Belgium. There, Giulia had to learn Flemish. It was very difficult for her to adapt to a new school, new friends, and new culture. Her family lived there for almost four years, and by the time Giulia spoke perfect Flemish, she had to move again. This time to Bucharest, Romania.

Giulia already knew Romanian, as her parents come from Romanian origin. Although she thought this time would be easier for her, her parents decided she would study at the American International school of Bucharest. Giulia didn’t know a word in English, and so she had to learn a whole new language, again. Giulia was 10, and begain taking piano & vocal lessons. She participated in every school play and took part of the school choir. All her friends knew she would become a singer, actress, or a presenter. You could tell early on that Giulia was born to be in show-biz.

For her sixteenth birthday, Giulia got to record her first song composed by Adrian Ordean, who was one of the top composers at that time, composing melodies to A.S.I.A, a very well-known pop group in Romania. The song was called “I’m Feeling So Alone”. Giulia was excited and decided she wanted to participate at Mangalia Music Festival. It was 1998, and Giulia entered the contest with a song called “I Do”, sung originally by Jessica. Although she did not win any prizes, in 1999, Giulia decided she would participate at an open audition. Giulia did the audition and was selected among hundreds of girls to become a VJ for MCM Romania, now known as MTV. That’s when Giulia received her first opportunity to prezent her own show.

In 2000, Giulia was asked personally by the ambassador of Israel in Romania, Mr. Avi Milo, to sing live at the national Opera House for Israel’s independance day. It was an honor for Giulia to sing four amazing songs; “Amen”, “Hai” (originally sung by Ofrah Haza), “Happy Birthday” (Eden), and last but not least the Tikva (Israel’s National Anthem). Also in 2000, Giulia released her first video for MTV Romania called “Suna, Suna”. Being her first videoshoot, Giulia was very excited work with such professionals. The video was shot in two locations. The other location was Angela Similea’s house. Angela is one of Romanian’s most famous singers of all time.
