Biography

Joke, whose real name Gilles Ateyaba Koffi, is a French rapper born October 27, 1989 in Narbonne , and a native of Montpellier . He is a member of the group "Les Monsieur" (Bip's Titan, Leknifrug, Charlie Benzo, Asura, KidiBen)

Born in Narbonne , he moved with his mother to Montpellier at the age of 10 years. He listens very young rap spirit of contradiction and is influenced by Secteur A and Chronic 2001 by Dr. Dre.
Teenager, he began to publish titles on Myspace. This is where Teki Latex (group TTC) mark his talent. He proposes to integrate Stunts (division rap label Institubes ) and brought up in Paris to record some sounds. His first street album Prêt pour l’argent comes from August 2009. He then decides to leave Institubes.
No record company decides Joke in 2011 to offer the public the EP Ready For Money 1.5. The Golden Eye Music label is then the search: "I see that the old, because I'm at Golden Eye, they listen to my stuff and validate them for real!". The aim of the label is clearly marked his time and bring freshness to the French report. It was after the release of the title Mtp Anthem (anthem to his city, Montpellier) extract the compilation We Made IT V.1 (June 18, 2012, Golden Eye Music) which will trigger the rise of the young element Montpellier in the French-rap landscape.
After the release of the EP Kyoto (Nov. 26) and a full concert La Maroquinerie in Paris in December, 2012 is considered as a promising talent of French rap which allow it to be spotted and signed by Def Jam France (Universal Music). His second EP released by Tokyo against still independent with Golden Eye Music.
Staff, elegant and nonchalant style but wearing bluntly, told the Inrockuptibles it is "ahead of the French rap." His first album whose name was unveiled at the end of the clip will be called Harajuku Ateyaba and released June 2, 2014 with Def Jam Recordings France , Universal Music.
