New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Kristeen Young is earning critical acclaim for her live show opening on Morrissey's 26-date US tour supporting her new album 'The
Knife Shift' (out this week), which was co-produced by Tony Visconti and features Dave Grohl playing drums on the full record and guitar on five tracks. Performing with a three-piece band, The Hollywood Reporter praised Kristeen's "wild, psychedelic presence" and "powerfully dissonant provocations," while LA weekly said she's "a bold and confident performer... her crystal-clear voice rang out like a shot."
Last week, SPIN.com premiered a full stream of 'The
Knife Shift,' saying the album "channels the otherworldly, art-rock dramatics of Kate Bush, along with the ferocity of Sleater-Kinney," and The New York Times praised her "aggressive soulfulness." See below for tour dates and more.
