LOS ANGELES (www.anti.com) - Tickets for TOM WAITS Seattle Show at the Paramount Theater October 18 sold out in a mere 5 minutes. It will mark Waits' only US performance to take place in the US this year.
Fans began lining up for tickets 12 hours before they went on sale at Tower Records, while others camped out overnight at the box office. There is talk of a US tour in early 2005.

Today also marks the release date of his new album, REAL GONE, which is already garnering stellar reviews from coast to coast. Jon Pareles noted in the New York Times: " ... Mr. Waits sings in a subterranean whisper, then whistles with an almost unbearable sweetness.
Like an altar built of barbed wire, scrap metal and broken glass, Real Gone hammers ungraceful materials into something like beauty," while Joel Selvin extolled:
"Over his 30-year career, Waits has proved to be not only one of the most original voices in American music, but also one of the most enduring talents of his generation, the rare recording artist whose recent work is as fresh and challenging as his best."
