New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Once again Factory Fast Records has taken a cosmic trip to independent rock's outer ring, and the result is Pitch-Black Heart, a new seven-song release showcasing a crew of up and coming musicians.
Factory Fast Records has released several compilations, but none packed the emotional punch of Pitch-Black Heart. For starters, The Angeles Project (Los Angles) brings an '80s flair, and then you hear the glam rock fodder of The Spase (Halton, UK). The mystical balladry of Carroll's
Sword (Manchester, UK) sidles next to a scintillating groove presented by Halle Day (Den Haag, NL). The saucy retro-ness of The Hotelles (London) mixed in with Peculiar
Disco Moves (Newcastle, UK) who has practically invented a new pop idiom. Meanwhile, London-based trio The Everglows closes it out steeped in retro mod-ness.
"How much time do you think you need to figure it out?" sings Halle Day in 'Getup' alongside a bouncing warm bass line. "All you're troubles are behind you now…spread your wings its time to fly high".
Start-up NYC-based Factory Fast Records releases original music in addition to compilations. The record label does not feature mainstream music. Instead it specializes in indie and blues-influenced rock, but also works with artists and bands from many genres. Unique to the label are its digital #VirtualVinyl releases which are sold exclusively by the label and mimic the feel of listening to a record.
We think you will find Pitch-Black
Heart to be required listening. Think of the release like an indie rock "survival guide" for 2014. To be released on Amazon and #VirtualVinyl digial, Pitch-Black Heart's audio highlights are available for listening on SoundCloud:
