Folk Singer, Kate Callahan Releases New EP "Aha!"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Company) Folk singer-songwriter, Kate Callahan flaunts her stunning voice on her latest EP, Aha!. Winner of the Greater Hartford Arts Council's 2014 Artist of the Year, Kate is proving why she is deserving of the title. Her insightful lyrics and vocal purity ring effortlessly on her latest release. Aha! is now available for download on iTunes.

Opening the EP, "Breakthrough" surprises with an enthusiastic beat that evokes swaying and daydreaming from the start. Callahan's sweet voice soars as she sings, "you are free to feel deeply into now and destiny will be easy." Her optimistic perspective on love and life is conveyed, giving the listener a glimpse of her everyday persona. While showing her tender side, Callahan sings about how perfect love can be when it frees both people. Trivial topics are scarce in Callahan's music; she goes deeper, speaking about life on the opposite side of the world, soul fulfillment, and one's connection to the earth. The sanguinity within each track, as well as the tenderness in her voice speaks directly to the heart. Each song has a whimsical spirit and a peaceful melody that creates relaxing imagery. Callahan's honeyed folk-style voice is backed by a bluesy band creating a feel-good atmosphere perfect for the start of the day.

Earlier this year, Callahan released her EP Two Doors, which helped set the stage for a prosperous career. Recently, The Boston Globe spoke of Kate boasting that she "has garnered an appreciative audience with her easygoing vibe and inspirational, at times mystical lyrics."

Although Kate's music is the lovely cure to ease an anxious mind, Kate's musical story has been far from easy. At just nineteen, she sustained a traumatic brain injury in a skiing accident, forcing her to drop out of college to rehabilitate. Doctors informed Kate and her family that she had plateaued. Callahan worked even harder in order to prove them wrong and prove she was capable of more. Part of that therapy included taking up the guitar, which ultimately helped her memory, and she soon after began to write songs. Simultaneously, she continued to improve and was able to further her recovery in ways that doctors couldn't. With a new sense of determination and appreciation, Callahan provided herself with a platform to share her story and a unique way to deal with what had happened. Gracing the stages of local open mic nights all over New England, Kate shared her talent with all who would listen. Those open mics turned into features, which turned into opening sets, then headlining events and most recently festival appearances. Callahan continues to work on her music and make a name for herself within the industry, with a deep understanding that her second chance is limitless.

This is one of the more exciting moments of the past two years for Callahan as her tireless, hard work has finally paid off with the release of her two EPs. Be sure to check out Aha! on iTunes and learn more about Kate Callahan's music at her website www.Kate-Callahan.com.
