NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - Atlantic's hot new rock signing, Gratitude, played their first gig in The Big Apple last night. The band performed at Manhattan's Downtime as part of the CMJ Music Marathon. The San Francisco-based combo is gearing up for the release of their debut album, due out early next year. "I wanted to make really big, beautiful rock that I'm not ashamed of," says lead singer Jonah Matranga (of Far and onelinedrawing fame). "Songs ask for what they want and they go where they want to go, and these were just songs that wanted to be recorded in a big, beautiful studio, with people that have made classic records."
