New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The
Black Keys, who are currently touring North
America on their Turn Blue world tour, recently sat down to discuss life on the road in the new video below. The video, directed by the group's longtime creative director, Michael Carney, offers a look on stage and behind the scenes as band mates Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney talk about the evolution of their touring life, from humble beginnings to now, when the important things remain the same, despite the change in venues.
"It doesn't really matter what size room we play in," says Auerbach. "You can still make that connection with people."
"We still approach the concert the same way," adds Carney. "It's all about the performance."
Auerbach goes on to say: "Some of these recent shows we've played in big arenas have been just absolutely electric. The roar could kind of knock you over when you got on stage. What really matters most is that the audience has that connection."
Carney later concludes: "One thing that Dan and I don't take for granted is getting the opportunity to play for people who really want to listen."
