New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Tuesday, December 16th at 11:00pm Sylvana Joyce & The Moment will headline at the Brooklyn hotspot Cameo Gallery alongside fellow up-and-coming indie acts Wifey and
Black Wing Halo. Joyce, who has been lauded by The Huffington Post as "Equal parts dynamo and siren" who is "basically a human carnival" is excited to join forces with fellow sisters of theatre (Vanessa Reseland of Wifey has recently been cast in a Broadway revival of "
Into The Woods" and Joyce herself appeared on Broadway in Tony Kushner's "Slav's!") for what will be a stellar production of femme-fronted indie rock.
Joyce and her band, which features a classically trained violinist, a Berklee guitarist with an affinity for metal, a funk bassist/operatic tenor, and a contemporary jazz drummer, have already received accolades from the likes of MTV, CNN, The Village Voice, and Time Out New York. It is with these members known as "
The Moment" that Joyce's music and performance truly pack a punch, leading them to share the stage with Nikka Costa, The Aristocrats, and Moon Hooch, as well as feature performances at large festivals including CMJ and Musikfest.
Although SJ & The Moment have played festivals, and extensively toured the east coast, they are excited to make Brooklyn their home turf, as it is where they are currently recording new material for an impending EP release.
Make sure to mark your calendar for December 16th to catch what Jimmy
Lloyd of the Jimmy
Lloyd Songwriter Showcase (NBC) calls "an absolute force of nature" that "needs to be seen to be believed."
