Cleopatra Records. This limited edition piece contains the original 6 LPs of the band's most mind-blowing albums including 1977's Alien Soundtracks, 1979's Half Machine Lip Moves, and 1981's Blood On The Moon along with the rare No Humans Allowed compilation and the two Chronicles LPs. As a special bonus, the box will also contain the 1984 Chrome album Into The Eyes Of The Zombie King that has not been available on vinyl for almost 30 years! All albums are pressed on 180 gram vinyl, placed in full color jackets, and packaged in a silk screened box with a gorgeous 40-page, 12"x12" full color book containing extensive liner notes by Chrome historian Neil Martinson and rare, never before released photos!
Chrome came to life in mid-'70s San Francisco, founded by Damon Edge, a young iconoclastic artist with a multitude of talents and interests. After the group's 1976 debut album, Edge met guitarist and fellow raconteur Helios Creed, and together this duo would produce some of the most groundbreaking, avant garde music by any American band of the time. Their style, a musical pastiche of noise rock, over-processed guitars, electro-industrial loops, tribal rhythms, and searing synthesized synesthesia, would go on to influence bands ranging from
Nine Inch Nails to The Flaming Lips. The original Chrome Box vinyl set, released in 1982, collected what was then the best of the group's albums (still generally regarded as the creative high point of the Edge/Creed era) in an affordable yet attractive package. The box set was an enormous success, selling quickly and traded frequently by Chrome die-hards over the years. Now these fans have a chance to experience the magic all over again with this truly deluxe reissue!
