RECORD OF THE WEEK
Daniel Bedingfield - Nothing Hurts Like Love: 'Nothing Hurts Like Love' is out on October 25th and is be the first single from Daniel's album 'Second First Impression'. His album 'Second First Impression' will be released a week after the single on November 8th. After ten months absence due to a major car accident which could so easily have cost him his life, Daniel is back.
This song was written by Diane Warren, who, in the past has been responsible for songs such as Aerosmith's 'I Dont Want to Miss a Thing'. With an amazing string accompaniment and Daniel's vocals sounding better than ever!

HOT SHOT RECORD
Dannii Minogue vs. Flowerpower - You Won't Forget About Me: Dannii's first single with her new label AATW is a pumping dance tune which will see the Divine Miss D back in the charts and our hearts this autumn. As with 'Who Do You Love Now' Dannii has added her vocal magic to an existing instrumental club hit and the result is irresistable ('Flowerpower' was a huge club anthem coming out of Time in Italy).

Danzel - Pump It Up: Danzel was one of the 20 finalists of 'Idol 2003' in Belgium. The track is a cover of an oldier version by the Black & White Brothers and includes a sample of 'In the mix' by Mixmaster. 'Pump It Up' has been charted in almost all European countries, and the question is: Should you buy this cd-single?
A sure NO if you're living in Britain or Ireland. When there are EXCELLENT dance acts like Deep Dish in our charts, there isn't any excuse to buy something so 'trashy'. This is very good for countries like Russia, Greece, Croatia etc. with non-developed music dance scene and without good english languaged-skills. Oh, by the way, If you are a teacher for little kids in a kindergartner with many immigrants, then you can use it as an 'english' start-up!

Graham Coxon - Freakin' Out/All Over Me: When Graham Coxon started creating solo works when he was still with Blur, they seemed a wilful reaction against the often poppy and tuneful albums he was helping produce while at his day job. Coxon has split from Blur and he seems more relaxed about their legacy. "Freakin' Out" is an amiable punky rave-up evocative of the Jam. It is really a classic and the guitar is so cool. Lyrics are delivered in a snarly-sort-of-way and this song shows what the new 'proper rock band' should be doing.

Ja Rule feat. R Kelly & Ashanti - Wonderful: Ja Rule returns with the years finest urban collaboration! Ja Rule, R. Kelly and Ashanti form a formidable trio on the first single from Ja Rules new album, R.U.L.E. The track is really outstanding, one of the best collaborations for the 2004 and it is a very nice surprise that will be released in the UK exactly the same date with US. It is the third time Ja Rule sings together with the Ahanti (first was on the smash hit "Always On Time" and follows on "Mesmerize").
Ja Rule is coming up with bigger and cooler rhymes and beats, we can't wait what he's got next for us on the new cd 'R.U.L.E."

Kings Of Leon - The Bucket: The Kings Of Leon recorded their new album 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' with producer Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Counting Crows) - over five weeks in Studio City, California during the previous summer. After seeing the band play this years Glastonbury & V festivals, NME raved, "...A-Ha Shake Heartbreak is gonna p**s all over Youth and Young Manhood. Hallelujah!", whereas The Times declared that the new material in their set "consolidated their status as perhaps the finest American band of this decade.
For consumers/individuals: I hope that If you respect yourself, you are going to buy this cd-single and not something like Danzel, Will Young, Darious and others. Yourself, deserves the BEST!
For the 'free-to-air' radio stations: this cd-single shows how far you are from the reality of modern music waves and why so many of us we are looking something else on the Internet!

The Libertines - What Became Of The Likely Lads: You know, you have read it everywhere: 'Theyre the most important rock band in Britain since The Clash' (according to GO). In the late nineties in the East London squat scene, two troubadours and dreamers Peter Doherty and Carl Barat met and bonded over music and a common romanticism. They resolved to form a band with a name that reflected their attitude: a libertine is someone who is unrestrained by convention or morality.
The Libertines are born.
Their songs have become anthems: "What a Waster", "I Get Along", "Up the Bracket", "Boys in the Band", "Time for Heroes" and "Don't Look Back into the Sun". They sing and play and live this life that sits in the previously unexplored point halfway between the urban assault of The Clash and the arch romanticism of The Smiths. The new album is produced by Mick Jones and engineered by Bill Price (who worked on Londons Calling, and with Guns n Roses). Recommended.

Mick Jagger & Dave Stewart - Old Habits Die Hard: How someone can write something good, when all the other had done it before him/her for this track? Great sound, maybe this is the airplay track for every station this week! The song is bringing us another collaboration, Mick Jagger & Dave Stewart from the 'Alfie' Soundtrack. 'Alfie' is the remake of the classic 1960s film Alfie, the soundtrack has been co-written by a true icon of the period, Mick Jagger. Together with Dave Stewart, the pair wrote and recorded the album with guest spots from Joss Stone, Nadirah and Gary "Mudbone" Cooper.

Mindy Smith - One Moment More: I first heard Mindy Smith on CMT's music countdown. Although the track "Come To Jesus" was a top country hit, I can't decide if she's really country or christian. The pleading melody of "One Moment More" captures the feelings of parting/separation.
"One Moment More" according to Mindy, it had written in 1991 when her mother was dying from cancer. That makes me wonder how old she was when she wrote the song? How do you describe a performance that is other-worldly? I havent stopped listening to it from last summer. The song gets me every time, check this out, its definately worth it!

Shakedown - Love Game: I enjoy the music on this a lot - especiall Mousse T. remix. It has a familiar sounding melody with a solid beat, but the vocal sounds like Hall & Oates! Samuel Wallis' voice spoils the bouncey beat and disco-pop sound of the track. I mean, If I have to listen Hall & Oates, I preffer the originals. I like the music of "Love Game' a lot but can't stand the vocal.

Snow Patrol - How To Be Dead: Final Straw, third album from Glasgow-based quintet Snow Patrol, is a darker, nastier and altogether bleaker beast than anything they've produced before. Another single is going to be released this week: 'How To Be Dead,' lends heavily to the rest of their stuff in style and it sounds more like an experiment than a proper song.
Still absolutly brilliant and get this: my proffesor heard it radiating from my car (I'm 24, he's 59) and he wants to borrow it. This may be the first ever time he's said that to me :-)

Tina Turner - Open Arms: The double album 'All The Best' collects together all of Tina Turner's big hits old and new, and includes early tracks such as the kickin' "Nutbush City Limits" and the soulful "River Deep Mountain High" alongside 80s classics, like "We Don't Need Another Hero" and "Private Dancer", and new songs, such as "Open Arms." The track is produced by the legendary producer Trevor Horn and the is getting airplay all over the world now.
