Proceeds from the 4th Annual East Coast Shag Classic fund the mission of Women of Hope, a nonprofit organization providing a wide-range of free services to improve the quality of life for female cancer patients and their families. In the U.S., there are 7.6 million living women who have ever been diagnosed with the 10 most common types of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
"We cherish the fact that we can be a part of their lives, providing support and encouragement to face the journey, and most important to provide hope," said
Elizabeth Barnes, Co-founder and Executive
Director of Women of Hope.
