Xtreme Lawn artificial turf.
The environmentally-friendly synthetic turf will provide natural grass aesthetics throughout the City of Rock, but with no required watering or mowing, ideal for the arid Nevada climate.
For its inaugural stateside edition, Rock in Rio USA is going green, by installing more than a half million square feet of artificial grass at the Las
Vegas festival grounds.
The City of Rock, a permanent open-air concert space, covers 40 acres across the Las
Vegas Strip, and has capacity to host 85,000 people per day. The festival spans May 8-9 and May 15-16, and will host an impressive musical line-up including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Sam Smith, Foster the People,
John Legend and Ed Sheeran.
Artificial turf is an ideal solution for event spaces and venues, as it provides aesthetically pleasing coverage with high durability and minimal maintenance. The environmentally-friendly synthetic turf will lend a natural grass look and feel throughout the City of Rock, but with no required watering or mowing, ideal for the arid Nevada climate. It is also highly durable and designed with maximum UV protection to withstand heavy foot traffic as well as intense sunlight.
The contractor selected artificial turf manufacturer Act Global, recognized for their quality commitment and ability to effectively undertake large-scale projects. Act Global is a USA-based Certified Synthetic Turf Council Manufacturer, FIFA Preferred Producer for Football Turf, and has successfully completed many prominent, challenging projects around the world.
The
Xtreme Lawn product features a blend of lifelike green turf fibers, along with a light brown thatch layer to lend the appearance of real grass. The synthetic turf will extend throughout the event site for the enjoyment of festival goers. A section of 184,500 square feet will be secured with a backing which makes it removable, to be mobilized and utilized for future projects elsewhere.
The artificial grass product was manufactured in Act Global's ISO 9001 Quality facility in Calhoun, Georgia, and shipped to the MGM Resorts Festival Grounds earlier this month. The project is expected to be completed mid-April, in plenty of time for the festival start date of May 8. In addition to celebrating its first U.S Edition, Rock in Rio is also honoring its 30th Anniversary this year.
