Smoke Season's Haunting New Single, "Bees" Is Sweet Without Stinging
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Indie rock band, Smoke Season, have released a dazzling new single, which includes spellbinding allure, sonically, and a tingling essence of lyrical lust. Smoke Season has swiftly established itself as a major player in the indie scene, with their unparalleled blend of rock guitar riffs and cool synth lines. "Bees" marks the band's first release since 2014's EP, Hot Coals, Cold Souls. The single is now available for download on iTunes and streaming on Spotify.

Drawing influences from pop, folk, rock, and electronic music, Smoke Season unearths their palette blending the indie-Americana rock sound of Jason Rosen on guitar with Gabrielle Wortman's vocal ferocity, comparable to Fiona Apple and Grimes. The seductive new single, "Bees," is a striking display of the band's latest progression of mesmerizing artistry. The track begins with an ominous synth line that flutters as frenetically as a bee and launches into an epic ballad of yearning. As Wortman sings the hook, "you get the honey without the sting," she suggests a steamy relationship with no strings attached. Produced by Kyle Draper and David Burris, "Bees" proves to be as murky, exquisite and mysterious as Smoke Season gets.

Wortman and Rosen formed Smoke Season early in 2013, soon recruiting Christopher Roberts for percussion and Gabe Davis for bass on their first EP Signals that spring. In 2014, the pair released their sophomore effort, Hot Coals Cold Souls, with well-received singles "Badlands" and "Opaque". Notable performances include the Sundance Film Festival, CMJ 2014, Noise Pop 2015, Daftstar TV, AXS TV, and Balcony TV. Among their accolades, Smoke Season has been awarded "Artist of the Month" by The Deli Magazine, "Hot 100 Artists of the Year" by Music Connection Magazine and have been featured in LA Record, LA Weekly, Buzzbands, Grimy Goods, Buzznet, and featured on Buzzfeed's "11 Up and Coming Independent Musicians Making a Name For Themselves". They have sold out shows at The El Rey Theater, The Glass House, The Bootleg and their residency at The Echoplex in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, Smoke Season broke the 1.5 million mark for plays on Spotify!

Playing with the imagery of the birds and the bees, Smoke Season's newest single is a provocative song of passion that is simply captivating. Be sure to download the single at iTunes.com. You can also check out more of Smoke Season at www.SmokeSeason.com!
