New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil's 'Goliath' released last week on top of launching its national
Spring tour which included packed dates in L.A., Seattle and Portland. The 11-track giant released via
Sounds Familyre Records on March 31 in three different formats: an iTunes exclusive, a
Deluxe Edition, multi-color vinyl and cassette.
Early reviews call the record, "near perfect," (Under The Radar), "bleeding-throat punk fury ... one of the nicest surprises of 2014," (WonderingSound) and "one of the best albums of the year," (Pop Dose). Fred Armisen, (Portlandia/Late Night With Seth Meyers/Saturday Night Live) even took to YouTube to recommend his viewers "check it out."
In early 2014, cerebral rocker Steve Taylor brought together friends John Mark Painter, Jimmy Abegg and
Peter Furler to form Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil, yielding the 11-track 'Goliath.' The album was funded by a 30-day, $120,000 Kickstarter campaign.
"The decision to release Goliath on cassette is in response to overwhelming demand from our fans, who evidently drive old cars with really crappy stereos," jokes Taylor, who's been around long enough to remember the format's heyday.
In support of the Goliath's release, the band continues to tour the U.S. with special guests Danielson & The Nine-Fruit Tree. For an updated tour schedule, please visit stevetaylorpresents.com
