New York, NY (Top40 Charts) World renowned rock band the
Scorpions have signed with Primary Wave Entertainment, who will be the multi-platinum rock band's exclusive marketing agency focusing on marketing the Scorpions' new album and tour, as well as building their online presence and brand alliances. The
Scorpions will release their new album "Return To Forever," in North
America later this year, which will celebrate the band's 50th stage anniversary. In addition to the new album, the legendary band hit the road on May 1st for a worldwide tour, which kicked-off in Zhenjian, China and is making stops in Paris, Berlin, Rome, Zurich, Los Angeles, Toronto, Brooklyn and many more. The band will also appear on the big screen with a new documentary "Forever And A Day," which was captured by film maker Katja von Garnier, who accompanied the
Scorpions on their "Final Sting" tour and put together a moving documentary with unique images from their eighteen months on tour, displaying the band's magic, which has never been documented before.
By signing with Primary Wave, the
Scorpions will have access to Primary Wave's deep in-house resources including their
Digital Marketing team, Branding company, Sync/publishing team as well as their film/TV production and development partners. This will help capitalize on the band's brand extension and reach into younger generations through social media and various marketing efforts. The multi-award winning rock band will also join Primary Wave's current, diverse roster of artists and brands such as Def Leppard, Melissa Etheridge, CeeLo Green, Hall & Oates, Jane Lynch, Klipsch Audio, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Go-Go's, Cypress Hill,
Natalie Imbruglia, VOX, among many others.
Scorpions first stepped onto the music scene as a German rock band in 1965 in Hannover and currently consists of band members Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine, Matthias Jabs,
James Kottak, and Pawel Maciwoda. Their debut album "Lonesome Crow" was released in 1972 and the band's chart-topping songs include the 1980s hard rock anthems, "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "No One Like You," and other successful singles such as "Send Me an Angel," "
Still Loving You" and "Wind of Change." Overall, the
Scorpions are one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, with reported sales of over 100 million sold records. The band was also ranked #46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and their hit "Rock You Like a Hurricane" also landed as #18 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs.
