New York, NY (Top40 Charts) One of the things we love most at
Heartland Film is connecting audiences and filmmakers through a mutual love of independent film in our great city of Indianapolis.
Heartland Film Festival Summer Rewind (June 18-20, 2015) will showcase 12 feature films from the 2014
Heartland Film Festival in an abbreviated, three-day mini-festival format. The event gives moviegoers an opportunity to see independent film from all over the world and to interact with filmmakers and actors, like
James "The Amazing" Randi and Mary Kate Wiles ("The
Lizzie Bennet Diaries" web series), in the historic Fountain
Square cultural district.
"We are very excited to announce the schedule and lineup of attending filmmakers at the second annual Summer Rewind mini-festival," says
Heartland Film President
Stuart Lowry. "One of the things we love most at
Heartland Film is connecting audiences and filmmakers through a mutual love of independent film in our great city of Indianapolis."
Being able to connect with filmmakers is what sets film festivals apart from the everyday cinema experience. Every October, the
Heartland Film Festival hosts more than 130 indie filmmakers from all over the globe and will welcome a selection of past filmmakers back for Summer Rewind to accompany their films:

"An Honest Liar" (2014
Heartland Film Festival Official Selection, Documentary Feature) is a character study of
James "The Amazing" Randi, who has entertained millions of people around the world with his remarkable feats of magic, escape and trickery for the last half century. When Randi saw his beloved magician's tricks being used by faith healers, fortune-tellers and psychics—not for entertainment but to steal money from innocent people—he dedicated his life to exposing those frauds. But when a shocking revelation in Randi's personal life is discovered, it isn't clear whether he is still the deceiver—or the deceived. Co-Directors/Producers Tyler Measom and Justin Weinstein and subjects
James Randi and Deyvi Peña are scheduled to attend.
